Are Italians White? How Race is Made in America

This interdisciplinary collection of essays explores how, when, and why whiteness became important to Italian Americans, and the significance of gender, class, and nation to racial identity.  Contributors John Gennari, Jennifer Guglielmo, Kym Ragusa, and Joseph Sciorra, will read and discuss their essays in a book forum chaired by Peter Vellon.

This event will take place at the Student Union Building, Room 301, Queens College Campus.
