About two years ago we began a conversation on the need of a bibliography of publications that dealt with the Italian American and Italian Diaspora experience.
In this first phase of the project, the bibliography contains predominantly monographs and nonfiction prose works, more than 1,700 items, that cover a wide array of subjects from literature, history, film studies, biographies, cultural studies, religion, and more. We have also included memoirs and photography collections that capture different aspects of the diaspora.
The works listed are in their newest editions. In many cases, books from the late 1800s and early 1900s are reprinted and are listed as such. The thirteen-digit ISBN is also included where available.
A bibliography is a living document, constantly growing, so please let us know when you publish a book or are aware of other publications not included so we can update the document.
The current version of the Italian Diaspora Studies Bibliography can be found here.
Recommendations for the bibliography and questions are welcomed. Please contact: Stephen.Cerulli@qc.cuny.edu.
